
Ana Hilda Figueroa de Jesús (Akron, OH 1999)
Curator, historian, and art critic based in San Lorenzo, Puerto Rico and New York City. Her research examines memory, affect, notions of tragedy/paradise and Contemporary art as well as cultural political economy frameworks. She has collaborated with UNESCO, ArtNexus, The Latinx Project, Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum, Smithsonian Institution, and University of Puerto Rico, among others. Her work has been recognized with the Mitchell Family Award for Outstanding Scholarship in Latin American and Caribbean Studies (2025) by New York University and the Outstanding Young Critic (2022) by the International Association of Art Critics – Puerto Rico. Fellowships awarded include by the Museums Association of the Caribbean (2024), The Latinx Project (2024) and the Council on Library and Information Resources (2020). Ana Hilda holds a master’s degree in Latin American and Caribbean Studies and an advanced certificate in Museum Studies from New York University (2025) and a bachelor’s degree in Art History from the University of Puerto Rico, Río Piedras Campus (2021).
