
Ana Hilda Figueroa de Jesús (Akron, OH 1999)
Curator, historian and art critic based in San Lorenzo, Puerto Rico and New York City. Specializing in Caribbean, Latin American and Latinx communities, her research focuses on memory, affect and notions of tragedy/paradise in Contemporary art. Has collaborated with UNESCO, ArtNexus, The Latinx Project, Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum, Smithsonian Institution, Museo de Historia, Antropología y Arte at UPR, among others. Has been recognized with the Mitchell Family Award for Outstanding Scholarship in Latin American and Caribbean Studies (2025) by NYU and Outstanding Young Critic (2022) by the International Association of Art Critics – Puerto Rico. Fellowships include Museums Association of the Caribbean (2024), The Latinx Project (2024) and the Council on Library and Information Resources (2020). She holds a master’s degree in Latin American and Caribbean Studies and an advanced certificate in Museum Studies from New York University (2025) and a bachelor’s degree in Art History from the University of Puerto Rico, Río Piedras Campus (2021).
